Local Business, Local Information at CentralCoastLinks.com

Cal Poly continues to serve as a business incubator, as evidenced by the recent debut of Paso Robles-based CentralCoastLinks.com, an online business directory serving communities from Orcutt to Cambria.
The company is the brainchild of Erinn Taylor, Ryan O'Leary, and Shane Forster, all of whom are graduates or soon to be graduates of Cal Poly.
CentralCoastLinks.com is not the trio's first commercial endeavor; in fact, it is a sponoff of PolyInteractive, which develops high-end e-commerce web sites for small and mid-sized companies in the food service distribution sector.
"We believed there was a real need to establish a portal that would bring local customers together with local businesses," says President Erinn Taylor.
"There is a real thirst out there for local information on the web."
Taylor and his colleagues have purposely priced their service to be affordable in order to "make it a resource that people will use."
A standard listing on the company's web site is available without charge and can be quickly accomplished by even a novice web cruiser by going to www.centralcoastlinks.com. Once there, just follow the prompts and in a matter of seconds, your business or non-profit organization is accessible to everyone with an Internet connection.
For a modest annual fee of just [$99], business owners gat an Information Quick (IQ) site which includes a window with room for an 800 character narrative, biography, photo and/or logo, an URL link, e-mail link, map link, and more. Additional photos may be added for [$5] each.
According to Taylor, the number of unique hits to the site is growing daily with lots of traffic from Yahoo and Google.
Through inexpensive banner advertisements the site also offers a great opportunity for area businesses to reach web surfers.
